It has been a while since I last shared Honestly WTF articles. I'm not including the pictures here just in case I'm infringing on any copyrights of the photographs. I'm more cautious about intellectual property and copyright issues after doing my final year project.
Let There Be Light
Norwegian artist Rune Guneriussen‘s installations are straight out of a magical fairytale. Can you imagine stumbling upon a trail of glowing lamps in the middle of the night?
Festival des Metiers
Hermés’ Festival des Metiers made it’s way to San Francisco earlier this week, bringing together generations of skilled artisans to demonstrate how some of their most iconic goods are made. The celebration of luxury craftsmanship walked us through the diligent and meticulous fabrication of the Collier de Chien cuff and Jypsiere handbag, as well as ties and shirt collars. The pièce de résistance, however, was witnessing the process of silkscreening an Hermés scarf in it’s entirety. Some scarves have upwards of 49 colors – which means 49 individual screens are manually layered over a sheet of silk twill, seamlessly depositing individual, custom created colors.
Anne Ten Donkelaar
Dutch artist Anne Ten Donkelaar lays pressed wildflowers, dried stems, and paper cutouts on top of tiny little pins to create the most spectacular three dimensional collages.
Up
In his series titled “Flying Houses,” Laurent Chehere manipulates images by placing ordinary homes and buildings high into the sky. Inspired by the forgotten homes of the Belleville and Menilmontant neighborhoods in Paris, Chehere brilliantly highlights the unsung beauty and details of the architecture.
Fleur + Dot
Fleur + Dot‘s look book features the cutest munchkin wearing the most precious vintage inspired clothing. Honestly, can’t I be 18 months old or rather, why aren’t these clothes available in 408 months? There’s so much inspiration to be taken from this fearless mini-fashionista. Love!
(Reminds me of Alexander Wang's niece)
